Description: Original 4 1/8 X 2 1/2-inch Post-Civil War Soldier CDV photo. Great photo of soldier holding musket with mounted bayonet and "US" clearly legible on his buckle. In excellent condition with some age fading and some graffiti scribbles on the reverse. I received a message from a fellow eBay member stating the following: "He is wearing the five-button sack which came out in the 1870s. And on his hat is the 1873 issue crossed rifles insignia." Another wrote: "The US Army did not adopt this insignia until 1875. He also wears the Pattern 1873 5 button Fatigue Jacket and holds a .45-70 Trapdoor Springfield Rifle fielded by the Army in the 1870's."
