Description: This is a Catholic altar stone, used, with five beveled crosses, measures 12" X 10" X 1". I obtained this in the eastern part of the United States from a dealer who obtained this from a closed Catholic church. I do not know the identities of the saints whose relics are included in the stone. Please see photos that accompany this listing. There are some cracks and a small amount of missing marble from the covering over the area containing the relics. This covering is not loose and it does not appear that the covering has been removed in the past. There is light veining on the back of the stone. There is only one light gray veining area on the front of the stone. Most of the front of the stone is white with some pale stains around the beveled crosses. According Church law, altar stones must contain the relics of at least two saints, one of whom was a martyr.
