Description: This lot consists of 4 volumes of "Catalogue of Books Added to the Library of Congress" for the years 1867, 1868, 1869 and 1870. Each volume is an 8"x11.75" hardcover published by the Government Printing Office in Washington, D.C. between 1868 and 1871. The have 526, 323, 415, and 381 pages, respectively. Each volume lists the thousands of titles acquired by the library over the previous year. The books are in good condition, without dust jackets (as issued). The 1867-1869 volumes have contemporary cloth bindings with marbled endpapers, while 1870 is a later, 20th century cloth binding. The spines are sunned and several have small spots of loss, the boards show rubbing, a few bumped corners, frayed extremities, soiling. The 1870 volume is ex-library with the usual stamps, and has a moisture stain at the spine. The other volumes have ownership marks on the first flyleaf, and all have an old price in pencil on the first or second page. The interiors are age-toned. The bindings are strong.
