Description: Overview of condition. This is a first edition, fifth printing (printed 1925) of Caste and Outcast by Dhan Gopal Mukerji. The book has a damaged and fragile dust jacket that has been reinforced with Mylar. The cover is the same on both the outside front and outside back but the inside flaps are different (this was a deliberate choice by the publisher). The cover and binding seem to be in good condition. No torn, creased or missing pages. The wording on the boards is faded. There is a signature on the inside cover dated 1927 and a sticker nameplate beneath it from a subsequent owner. Pages show age discoloration but the book itself is clean, free of writing, stains and strange odors. The book is over 99 years old and should be handled with care but is a good and readable copy.
