Description: "Petroglyph" cast sterling earrings by renowned Zuni artist, Carlton Jamon in 1995.. They are approximately 3/4" x 5/8" and weigh approximately 9.3 grams. They are pierced with a French wire. Carlton made these earrings for the American West Boutique in 1995 and they have never been worn. They are not signed or stamped possibly because of the casting, however, we bought them directly from Carlton. Carlton was born in 1965 on the Zuni reservation where he has resided his entire life. He is a leader and promotor of Zuni arts and crafts. He began making jewelry in 1984 with the objective of transforming traditional Zuni designs into his vision of contemporary jewelry as art.
