Rifle make and model embossed on the sight cover for ease of identification. *A note about rifle identification; The Carcano M91-28 and M91-24 share similar features. The M91-24 rifles were originally M91 infantry long rifles that were later shortened and rebuilt as carbines. The M91-28 designation was given to rifles that were factory built as carbines. The best way to determine the correct designation of your rifle is to take a look at the rear sight block and leaf. If your rifle has the longer rear sight leaf, then it's an M91-24.
