Description: Highly collectible and a rare piece! This is a vintage 1948 Captain Marvel's magic dime saver mechanical metal bank that is crafted in tin litho. The graphics and play of colors are lovely... It has the image of captain marvel flying with bills in his hands, the side features additional marvel images. The trap has lightning bolt image and presses down at 5.00 saved to open enough for dimes to be released (this part works reliably). This mechanical bank is in good condition with age appropriate wear such as paint loss and dents. It has a mechanical calendar and running total-- sometimes this works and sometimes it does not. I looked at it and tinkered with it a little bit, looks like all the parts are there but it does not reliably work when a dime is inserted to advance the calendar and total. Per research about mechanical metal banks made just like this one, the Captain Marvel one with a blue background is a valued, rare, collectible piece. This would be a perfect addition to your comic collection!!
