Description: Canvas Spatterdashes for your 18th century personaPossibly made by Panther Primitives, but do not have a tag. I am not sure of the right work for these; I've heard them called spats, gaiters, spatterdashes, toppers, leggings, or boot covers. They are thick green canvas that covers from the top of the foot to the knees. They come with cloth ties to keep them in place. Originally they protected a person's legs from brush but they also do a great job of hiding more modern footwear. They've been worn a couple times and then put away. Size is "one size fits most."I photographed these under the window, which makes them look faded. They are not, they are a nice dark green and match the fringed green hunting frock in one of my other listings. They are a bit wrinkled from storage.
