Canoe trolling motor mount - Solid Ash

Description: You're bidding on a Solid Ash Motor mount in a flat olive drab finish. This is a solid, heavy duty mount with finish that blends well. Nothing shiny here. These mounts are used on a regular basis, not just in open water but where it counts...submerged logs, stumps, moss, mud, sand & rock bottoms. The top crossbar is not your typical 1" stock lumber that measures 3/4" thick. This top x-bar is solid ash that's 1-1/8" thick to help minimize vibration and add to a smooth ride. The mounting block is 1 7/8" thick Ash for strength and ruggedness. If Ash is good enough for Louisville Sluggers, its good enough for me when cranking down on motor bolts. The mount block is joined to the cossbar with three glued 1/2" diameter oak dowels. Water proof glue is used on all mating surfaces. This insures a strong, water tight, no rust, clean, smooth construction. This baby is strong. A motor big enough to snap 3 glued dowels on this mount will sink the canoe first . The olive drab model has a primer coat and 2 coats of exterior camo grade flat paint for a lasting sealed finish. That'll keep the water out but here's the good part...The star-handle bolts with insert nuts in the bottom brace makes installing easy. Get the star handle bolts started in the mount & bottom brace, fit it up to the canoe and its a 1 hand operation from there. This is especially important when checking tightness out on the water. No two hand stuff when your out there floating. Wood construction looks sharp and is easy on the gunwales. It is light weight at around 7 lbs and approx 28" long, it's an easy, comfortable reach to the throttle. Not only is it comfortable it has a full range of motion so your propeller won't be hitting the hull. This mount will work on most canoes. It works on mine should work on yours.
