Description: Rare original antique engraving print from an 1860s illustrated journal. This antique print depicts seven views of Newfoundland and Nova Scotia, Canada. The large top view shows Blomidon. The central view is St. John. The surrounding views show the Partridge Island, The Split Rock, the Rips of D’Or, and Hands Port. The occasion for this antique print was a visit from the Prince of Wales to Canada, and his ship the HMS Styx is prominent in all the pictures. The Prince of Wales at the time was Albert Edward, who became King Edward VII much later. The print is very large (folio size), measuring approximately 11 x 15 inches (28 x 38 cm). The picture fills most of it, measuring about 9 x 13 inches, with a caption below it. The page is in excellent condition for its age. There is text/photos on the back of the print.
