Description: CAMPANIA (1893) She was built by Fairfield Shipbuilding Co, Govan, Glasgow, Scotland for the Cunard Line. She was a 12,950 GT ship with dimensions of 598'x65'. Twin-screw, 22 knots, triple expansion engines, two masts and two funnels. Launched Sept 8, 1892. Boilers: 13 Furnaces: 100. Consumed 20.5 tons of coal per hour to obtain 22 knots. Passengers: 600 first, 400 second, 1,000 third. Maiden voyage: Liverpool-New York April 22, 1893. Sold to shipbreakers in 1914. However was resold to British Admiralty and converted into aircraft carrier. In collision with the battleship REVENGE Nov. 5, 1918 in Firth of Forth and as a result sunk.
