Perttula (Ph.D., University of Washington, 1989) is Manager and Owner of Archeological & Environmental Consultants, LLC, based in Austin and Pittsburg, Texas. He is also a Research Associate in Anthropology at the American Museum of Natural History and Research Fellow at the Texas Archeological Research Laboratory, The University of Texas at Austin.. He has over 30 years experience in Cultural Resource Management work in North America, especially Texas, and has extensive research interests, especially in all facets of the Caddo archaeological and native history record with a particular focus on the archaeological and native history of Caddo Indian peoples in East Texas.
