c.1948 Palest Green & Pink Roses English EB Foley Bone China Teacup & Saucer

Description: This a lovely vintage pale pastel green bone china teacup and saucer, made by E B Foley of England. On the inside of the cup are sprigs pretty pink and yellow roses, with blue forget-me-nots. This set is so pretty! The saucer has slightly wavy edges, that make me think of a flower, and the cup’s edge has a barely wavy edge too. The edges of the cup and the saucer are trimmed in shiny gold. So pretty, to treat yourself to some tea or coffee, or simply display and admire! The backstamp was used between 1948-1963 according to foleychina.com. The date 1850 on the backstamp refers to when the factory "Foley China Works" was first in operation but it wasn’t owned by Elijah Brain (E.B.) until 1885 when he purchased the factory with partners. In 1958, Foley took over Coalport China and changed their name to Coalport. The teacup holds about 2/3 cup and is 3 & 3/8 inches in diameter and stands 2 & 7/8 inches tall. The saucer is 5 & 3/8 inches wide, and the set weighs about 8 ounces. The set is in excellent vintage condition, with no chips, cracks, or crazing and there is minimal wear to the gold trim. The pale green on the cup and saucer and the floral decoration on the inside of the cup are under the glaze so I see no fading or wear. Looking at an angle to the light, I don’t see any marks to the glaze either. Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree view for a closer look.
