Description: A pretty scene of a Southern Pacific Railroad passenger train crossing the Lucin Cutoff into the sunset over Salt Lake in Utah. Cute detail of a family standing at the back of the train. The picture is probably dated circa 1910 but this is a version from around the 1920s. There are quite a lot of versions of this exact picture but edited. This would be an earlier version because it shows wooden trestles. Later versions manipulated the bridge to look more "current" with the rock and earth which replaced the trestles in the 1950s. Plus, on the back of the postcard it encourages Americans to travel within America versus Europe - no one wanted to travel to Europe prior to 1950 except in a narrow window between the wars; so why this likely from the 20s. Great condition - good color, no tears, no stains or creases - only the corners show a little wear. Standard postcard card size with a light gloss finish.
