Description: 1850 or so stampless cover from Baltimore MD to Philadelphia. Blue CDS; red paid handstamp; 5 rate in manuscript. Small "R" in blue; that's from philadelphia and is evidence of handling as recorded mail, a predecessor of registration used at Philadelphia. No docketing or content; some pencil notations on back.
