Description: "Asia". A genuine antique map with fine handcolouring, taken from R. Turner's "A New and Easy Introduction to Universal Geography." There were various editions of this book published from 1780: I suspect this is from an edition of c1800. The map does not include New Holland, (Australia), and it is clear from the S.E end of New Guinea, which is left vague, that the area still had not been properly surveyed. Old names abound - Yeso Island (N. Japan), Siam Malacca, Persia, etc. An attractive little map. I am selling on ebay other maps from this series - please see my other items. Size: the map, as displayed in the mount measures approx. 10.5cms x 7cms. The mount measures approx. 20cms x 15cms.Condition: In a good condition. Paper a little browned with age.
