Description: c 1936 RH & SL Plant (Tuscan China) tea trio, floral pattern #3348 from the Carlisle Works, Longton, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Dimensions:The cup stands 8 cm tall and spans 10 cm from the outer edge of the cup to the outer edge of the handle.The saucer has a diameter of 14 cm.The side plate is 15.5 cm square. Hand painted in the glorious pastels of green, blue, yellow, pink and grey on a crisp white background with gold banding highlights The tapered, ribbed cup is wonderfully tactile and the contrasting square side plate completes a stunning tea set. In excellent original vintage condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, the gilding is in very good condition, some very minor kiln marks and glaze faults. The reverse of all 3 pieces bear the Plant Tuscan China Made in England back stamp in green which was used from 1936 onwards. The reverse of the cup and saucer also bear the registration number 785453; and the saucer has a hand written pattern number. I have listed 5 identical trio sets, a milk jug and sugar bowl, and a serving plate in this design separately. Ref 1378
