Description: I will be listing a number of cards. All of these cards have been kept protected in plastic inserts in a smoke free home ever since purchased. If you are interested in multiple purchases I can be flexible in pricing. This is a C 1900 Raphael Tuck & Sons New Year Postcard # 4150. There is some damage to the card. A corner is ripped off and there is a rip on the top of the card. Please see photos. The front of the card is written "To Wish You A Happy New Year The broad sun is sinking down in its tranquility". The photo on the front is decorated with little raised beads in the water. The back is marked "Tuck's Post Card Raphael Tuck & Sons "Art" Series No 4150 Art Publishers to their Majesties the King & Queen" . The card measures 14cm x 9cm. In a little shop in Bishopsgate over a century ago, began a business that would have an artistic effect on most of the civilized world. Raphael Tuck and his wife Ernestine worked together. The little shop opened in October of 1866 on Union Street in London, and the influence of that event was to be felt on two continents.Your card will be carefully wrapped and shipped USPS First Class Mail.
