Description: c 1894 Foley China hand painted, fluted daisy shaped serving plate, pattern #8186, produced at the Foley China pottery works in Fenton, Staffordshire. This exquisite, tactile piece bears detailed, hand painted floral motifs in lilac on a lustrous, bright white background. Dimensions: 23.5 cm diameter. In very good original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify.However, there is some kiln scorching in areas around the front edge.The gilding around the edges is rubbed. There are random tiny kiln firing spots and glaze faults, very typical of china manufactured at this time and the manual processes involved. The underside bears the green The Foley China England back stamp; registration number; and hand painted pattern number. I have listed a complete trio and spare saucer in the same design separately.
