Description: c 1880 Powell, Bishop and Stonier hand painted ironstone 23.7 cm Chinoiserie design luncheon plate "Hong Kong" pattern #A610. Produced in Hanley, Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Gloriously hand painted with floral swags, water scene and intricate borders on an unusual gold toned background. In good original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify. However, there is extensive overall fine crazing and discoloration marks front and back, which is very typical of ironstone wares from this era; and light rubbing to the deep red border enamel. The reverse bears the Powell, Bishop and Stonier back stamp with the Hong Kong pattern name; the registration diamond and oriental back stamp registered in 1880; and hand painted pattern number and painter's marks. I have listed 4 luncheon and 3 large dinner plates, and 1 soup bowl in this pattern separately.I do combine postage and will refund any difference on the day of posting. Ref 1442
