Description: c 1865 G.L. Ashworth & Brothers (Masons) hand painted, fluted ironstone dessert plate, Imari pattern B8092. Produced in Ashhworth's Hanley, Staffordshire works. Hand painted in the Imari palette of rust, pink and cobalt blue with plentiful gold high lights. In perfect original antique condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or restoration that I can identify, there are some kiln and glaze spatter marks very typical of the period. The hand painting is in fantastic condition, still clear and vibrant. The reverse bears the impressed Ashworth Bros ironstone china back stamp; and hand written pattern number and painters marks.
