This Ergo Public Defender Battle Grade model was available for sale starting April 27th 2016 through May 5th, 2016 and has been discontinued so can no longer be order from the Busse Combat.The original Public Defender was introduced by Jerry Busse in 2002. This was a really cool knife with only a 4.5" blade at about .187" thick. This is about as close to a Tanto Blade as you were going to get from Busse Combat. Well, fast forward 14 years later, Busse takes the design and adds an Ergo Handle to the design and makes it in three versions. Garth Reckner first introduced the Ergo Public Defender Battle Grade in 2016 and it has since been discontinued. There were three versions are Ergo Public Defender which are the Limited Edition, the thick version called the Fatback Defender and the Ergo Public Defender Battle Grade! As part of "Operation 2 Weeks" it last long but and "Sold Out" in only a few days! I guess they had very few of these left over laying around and decided to get a few Ultra Few done with a new Cerakote Pattern. This may be a one of a kind but I know there were definitely less than five ever made with this pattern. This has a new design which has a Bronze/Brown Camouflage Cerakote pattern on the blade/handle. The Cerakote coats not only the blade but the Magnum Textured Handles and protects it. The actual handle material is unknown can be either canvas micarta or G10, and because it is coated, is not known but will still have the lifetime guarantee. Cerakote is a High Performance coating that not only protects the blade but the coating is very tough and hard to wear out. There have been very intense testing and this coated was mainly used on guns because of the tough durability. For the 2018 Blade Show, less than a handful were coated with this ultra rare Camouflage Cerakoted on the Battle Grade version and were randomly put into the pre-ordered Grab Bag available only if you showed up at the Blade show and went to the Busse Induction Dinner! This has a Flat Saber Ground American Flag Cerakoted Blade with a Fine V-Ground Edge that is razor sharp. This is Brand New, never used, carried or sharpened. This is made of the SR101 Blade Steel which is a Legendary Steel is used mostly by Busse Combat's Sister Company Scrap Yard Knife Company and Swamp Rat Knife Works!
