Description: Bryn Mawr College, Pennsylvania, Engraved “Radnor Hall” Gorham EP Silver Soldered Serving Pot for Coffee, Tea, Water Marked 015093 54 oz I anticipate this piece being special to someone connected to Bryn Mawr College. EP stands for electroplate, meaning sterling silver was bonded onto a base metal. Needs polishing. I have removed a lot of tarnish with the foil method but stopped short of a full polishing because it should be done once well rather than a quick polish that will just need to be redone, causing unnecessary wear on the sterling silver finish. I recommend the buyer consider having a specialty jeweler apply a coat of rhodium on the polished piece to prevent tarnishing in the future. Some would disagree with that suggestion, so look into your options. The inside had a lot of coffee stains, which I was able to largely remove, leaving the interior in very good condition for its age. According to the Bryn Mawr College website, Radnor Hall was completed in 1887. I imagine this piece was used regularly in the living room area. https://www.brynmawr.edu/inside/offices-services/residential-life/our-dorms/radnor-hall I am unsure of the exact date, although I believe the numbers on the underside can help date it.
