Description: Brunswick T-1580 Repaired antique working tube radio 1939 with aux input. Well preserved Radio. I did not re finish the cabinet at all. The electronics have been thoroughly gone through. All capacitors and most resistors were updated with new one. There are 3 new tubes and the other two test great. New #51 bulb and new safety polarized cloth covered cord. THis radio was originally equipped for use as an amplifier for a television receiver in addition to AM radio so there is an auxiliary input jack on the back (Photos). I have added a 3.5mm to RCA jack converter so that any new device such as a phone can be attached and played through this radio. This radio has a great sounding 8 inch high fidelity speaker and its sound is loud and clear. Reception is very good on local AM stations and at night it will receive distant stations also. There is a external antenna attachment screw on the back (Photos) if you are in an outlying area and need to attach a long wire antenna for reception. Unusual thing with this radio is the original back was still present and the two “peek a boo” doors work well to make this a small piece of inconspicuous furniture if so desired when the doors are closed. Will be supplied with the only schematic available (photo) which was used in repairing the electronic circuits. Please note at very low volume or between stations there may be a very low pitched hum as the large speaker amplifies this otherwise negligible sound which is not present at normal listening volumes. I have added felt pads to the bottom of each leg to protect your furniture. This is a fairly heavy wooden radio so unfortunately shipping may be high depending on your location. It will be packed in an oversized heavy box with plenty of bubble wrap protection.
