No. 89 Squadron was a Royal Air Force squadron, mainly active in the fighter role during its existence. On 25 September 1941 No 89 Squadron reformed at RAF Colerne as a night fighter unit. In November 1941 it flew out to the Middle East to provide night fighter cover. In October 1943 the unit moved to Ceylon. In September 1944 it began intruder missions as well as normal night fighter patrols over the Burma front. In September 1945 the unit moved to Singapore. By March 1946 it was without aircraft.
