They can have cracks or chips, and possibly paint but not typically. These are decades old parts from rifles that were literally for practice, they will not be perfect. If the cracks are severe or they are missing the front "arms" I will make a new listing for those. I have several of these and will not receive the exact one pictured but in similar condition.
