Description: This 50p was issued into circulation to commemorate the coronation of King Charles III on 6th May 2023. This is the first ever UK Coronation 50p, and features the uncrowned portrait of the King on the obverse. The reverse design, by Natasha Jenkins, shows a depiction of Westminster Abbey and His Majesty’s Royal Cypher. A crowned version of the Coronation 50p did not enter circulation, but was issued for collectors only.
