Bat printing is a form of early transferware using a thin slab of gelatin; a mode of printing on glazed ware by transferring the impression from the engraving to the ware on a thin slab of gelatin with the impression being taken in varnish and dusted with color after transfer.It declined in use at about 1820 when other forms of transfers were found.
