Description: SIR GEORGE OTTO TREVELYAN (1838-1928) was a British Statesman and Author. From 1899-1914, he published a six-volume “American Revolution.” Offering a fine letter with a nice reference to the the United States Declaration of Independence. 3 1/2 pp, 4 1/2 x 7, June 16, 1898, 8 Grosvenor Crescent, SW, Trevelyan writes to Mr. Fortescue. “Thank you for the letter. That is the book: but I have notes from the House of Commons copy taken as late as Feb. 1777 – long after the Declaration of Independence. And there were more than 6 vols. I should be very glad to know if the set of printed vols. in the museum goes on later than 1776. “On referring again to my notes, I see that the later notes are taken from the 5th Series. Could you let me have a line about it? “Very faithfully yours, “G.O. Trevelyan” Excellent condition. Everything we sell is guaranteed authentic forever to the original buyer.
