Description: Brinkmann-branded Macherey-Nagel (MN) produced POLYGRAM 20x20 cm polyester sheets for thin-layer chromatography (TLC). The unmodified standard silica gel layer is 0.25 mm thick. Useful for normal-phase (NP) TLC analysis, at pH 2.0–8.0, of polar substances like amino acids, carbohydrates, and carboxylic acids. Super easy to cut into whatever size you need. As detailed in the Condition Description, some sheets have been removed from the original box of 25 sheets. To be on the safe side, we claim that this item should contain at least 15 unused sheets. Apparently MN omits catalogue numbers on branded products. Our best guess is that this item corresponds to MN 805023, with one possible exception: in some places, the thickness of the silica layer is given as 0.20 mm and in others 0.25 mm (as specified on this box). Other MN 805023 specifications: silica 60, specific surface (BET) ~500 m2/g, mean pore size 60 Å, specific pore volume 0.75 ml/g, particle size 5 – 17 μm; standard grade. Incorporates UV254 indicator: manganese activated zinc silicate with green fluorescence under short-wave UV (254 nm) illumination. Contains binders: highly polymeric products, which are stable in almost all organic solvents and resistant towards aggressive visualisation reagents; binder system for POLYGRAM sheets is also completely stable in purely aqueous eluents.
