Description: Description This is a wonderful, original animation cel drawing featuring a great image of the Fairy King from the popular CBS TV Special "Faeries" by Brian Froud. The piece was produced in the 1980's for the half-hour special which aired on CBS in 1981. The Animated TV special is based on a series of popular fantasy books that have their basis in Irish folklore. A young hunter Oisin is returning with his family from an unsuccessful hunt. He notices a fawn and strays away from his group. The fawn turns out to be a beautiful fairy, Princess Niamh, who asks him for help. This piece is from the scene where the fairy King is mixing up a potion from his book of spells to try and control his evil shadow.
