Brake Caliper Bleeder Bolt Repair Kit 1/4" NPT Adapter (Max Hole Size .437")

Description: New Dorman brake bleeder repair kit. This kit will repair a broken bleeder on your caliper or drum cylinder (see size below). This kit will include a new bleeder and a 1/4" NPT brass adapter, which will allow a MAXIMUM repair to a .437" hole. View our listings for other sizes. Many aftermarket performance calipers use this same system to prevent bleeder damage. Some tips: You must make sure that there is enough caliper material remaining around the bleeder as so when the caliper is drilled and tapped, it does not crack the caliper on a thin wall, if your bleeder is too close to the edge of the caliper body, you will not be able to repair that caliper. If you have a broken bleeder, you will need to drill it out, using a drill bit roughly the same size as the bleeder diameter to ensure you don't oversize the hole. Keep in mind that on aluminum calipers, the drill bit will wander to the aluminum since it is softer than the steel bleeder, which is why you would use a smallest possible bit initially. Do not drill into the piston! After the bleeder is removed, or if your caliper threads are stripped, you will need to drill and tap the caliper hole larger. This kit does a MAXIMUM of 7/16" (.437") hole size AFTER the hole is drilled, ENSURE there is enough caliper material available to drill first. This will require a 1/4" NPT tap and matching drill bit 7/16" (not included). Ensure no debris enters the caliper. Once the hole is tapped, you can thread in the brass adapter and bleeder and then bleed the brakes as normal.
