New Millennium Thread is a braided poly thread with many uses. Available in both bonded for sewing machines and waxed for hand sewing. Braided thread is stronger than twisted, and this loose braid flows thru a needle eye better than twisted. It also has no "twist" which can be unbalanced or be the wrong twist direction (Right or Left) for flowing through a machine. Polyester has the best balance of strength, UV resistance and less stretch when compared to nylon. This thread is made from first grade, high tenacity, continuous polyester. It is white (natural) in color and bonded with a special coating that improves knot holding and abrasion resistance. It has good resistance to mineral and organic acids at room temperature. Good resistance to weak alkali's, and a moderate resistance to strong alkali's depending on concentration, temperature and time. Good resistance to bleaches, oxidizing agents and is not attacked by mildew and has excellent resistance to sunlight. This material softens at 445 to 465 degrees Fahrenheit and begins to melt at 495 degrees Fahrenheit.
