It’s features Julian Reed who played “Jaber Duck” in the show Roman Rye. 1884. In 1884, Julian Reed's name reappears in American newspapers. In January of that year, he played a character called Jabez Duck in The Romany Rye at the Opera House in Milwaukee, Wis-consin. This play, written by George Borrow, had been highly successfully for two years at the Princess Theatre in London, and had already been made popular in many American cities. In Milwau-kee, it was produced with a cast of seventy-five, which (the advertisements boasted) included twenty-seven "actual 'gypsies'" along with seventeen changes of scenery. I believe based on the size and heavy board stock this was a type of lobby card to promote show and actor’s. The photo has damaged missing corner and light fading.
