Description: Vintage early 1900's THE AERIAL CONTEST Game of Aeroplane (BOX ONLY!!!). Made by J.W. Spears & Sons, Bavaria. Aerial Contest was one of the first board games with metal game pieces whose theme was focused on these early planes. The box cover graphics are absolutely astounding, depicting a 1905-6 Wright Bros. aeroplane flying above a rocky sea coast, and in the foreground is the steam paddle vessel "Christopher" moving across the surface. There are a few wrinkles but otherwise the game box and a tear on the top middle box seam, otherwise is in excellent+ condition, and measures 12" x 8-1/2". Instructions are printed inside box cover. This is the smaller version of the 3 sizes that were produced. (Inventory code: Board2)
