Button measures BACKGROUND: National Student Coalition against Racism (NSCAR) was founded at a meeting at Boston University in 1975. The groups mission was to unite everyone, regardless of race or sex, to fight the struggle against racism. The conference was endorsed by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), and the People United to Save Humanity (PUSH).
