Hard to Find Original 1980s Reissue Pressing of this great Classic / AOR / Hard Rock album from Boston featuring Tom Scholz, Brad Delp, Barry Goudreau, Fran Sheehan and Sib Hashian. In the Original Cover with NO Cutouts or Promo markings. On the Black Epic labels. This is Santa Maria reissue Pressing probably from the early 1980s as indicated by the Barcode on the back and the Matrix markings on the label which read: Matrix / Runout (Runout, Side A Stamped; “S2”, “A3” Etched): AL 34188-2AC S2 A3Matrix / Runout (Runout, Side B Stamped; “S1”, “A21” Etched): BL 34188-2C S1 A21 CONDITION The Sleeve is in okay shape. There is some shelf wear, corner softening / wear, a bit of a crease in the upper right and a spot where it looks like a drop of something got spilled on it - not really stained but the texture is raised slightly. There is a 1” tear / split on the back upper left corner. Still solid and would rate VG overall. The Vinyl is in clean Glossy condition looking fairly lightly played. There are some scuffs, marks and faint hairlines - no actual scratches i.e. something felt with a fingernail. VG visually but plays at least VG+ or better with maybe a couple spots of light groove noise. The labels show a couple faint spindle trails but are otherwise NM. If I provide Play Grades it is done as a courtesy but I only guarantee the Visual Grade. I have summarized the important (i.e. I think everyone knows what Mint means) points below in Goldmine's words: Very Good Plus (VG+): Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have slight scuffs or very light scratches that don't affect one's listening experience. Slight warps that do not affect the sound are OK. Very Good (VG): Surface noise will be evident upon playing,... Groove wear will start to be noticeable, as will light scratches (deep enough to feel with a fingernail) that will affect the sound. I stand by my grades but would like us to be on the same page so no problems arise. I have been selling Vintage Vinyl for over twenty years on the net and I can count the returns I've had on one hand so I believe my grading is fair and accurate. One important note, I try to grade to these Goldmine guides as best as I can understand and apply them. This gives us both a written standard to go by rather than having to guess. But.... it also means that I don't issue refunds over differences of opinion in grading i.e. "That's not MY idea of a VG record!" - I don't know what your standards are and, as such, can't grade to them.
