Description: Boston Acoustic A40 6.5" Refoam Kit This kit fits on the A40 series 1 & A40 series II poly cone woofers. These woofers use a very unique foam surround and we do not use a generic foam surround like most others sell. See the closeup picture to check out the foam, which is exactly the same as the original. On some of the series II woofers you will need to trim 1/8" off the outside of the new surround with a scissors for it to fit in the recessed lip of the basket. Each Refoam Kit includes all the materials needed to repair two (2) woofers: Refoaming Instructions 2 Foam Surrounds (F6-6) Shims For Centering The 1" Voice Coils Two 2.25" Screen (thin fabric) Dust Caps 1 Tube of Specially Formulated Foam Surround Adhesive (strong and sticky to bond on poly cones) *It can be difficult to refoam a speaker without removing the dust cap and inserting the plastic shims. The plastic shims are used to center the voice coil and cone assembly while the speaker is being refoamed. If you do not use the plastic shims, the voice coil may be off center and it may lead to the voice coil rubbing.
