Description: This embroidered patch commemorates the NASA space programs Apollo 8 space mission. Manned by astronauts Borman Lovell and Anders, Apollo 8 was launched on December 21, 1968. It was the first flight around the Moon. This is an iron-on patch in royal blue with white edging and lettering. The red 8 represents the mission number and the route of the ship as it circles the earth and moon in a figure 8. The patch is triangular in shape which represents both the letter "A" for Apollo and the roughly triangular shape of the ship. Though pre-owned the patch is in very good to like new condition. It has no date listed. The patch is pre-owned but un-used. This would be a nice addition for collectors of patches, NASA, or space memorabilia.
