Description: Set of 2 large rimmed soup bowls made by Booths (Silicon) China) of England in an unknown blue floral transferware pattern. This pattern is similar to their Blue Peony pattern but has different trim. The center motif features blue peonies, cones and other flora, and the motif around the edges is a scalloped design with scrolls in between. These 2 bowls measure 8 3/4" in diameter and 1 1/2" deep. They are in good condition with no chips or cracks, but have the fine crazing common to old transferware, with a few mildly discolored areas. See photos for details, I don't think it's bad. The printed Booths mark on the back of the bowls dates them to around 1912; and as an interesting note, they also have the mark of Gilman Collamore & Co. of New York, which was an upscale department store selling high-end housewares from the mid-18th century through early 20th century. I have many different pieces of blue and white china under separate listings, including other blue transferware patterns, blue onion and blue willow pieces from many different manufacturers that I purchased in a large lot from a blue & white ceramic collector. Please check my other listings if blue and white is your thing, and always feel free to ask questions!
