Description: World's Fair or Columbus Mechanical Bank. Book of Knowledge mechanical bank Reproduction. Approx. 1950's era. Cast Iron, 6 1/4" tall, 8" long. Weighs almost 4 lbs. Marked on bottom- " Columbus Reproduced from original in Collection of the Book of Knowledge".(Original was patented Oct 10, 1893, made by Stevens Foundry, Cromwell, Conn.) Working mechanism - Coin is placed in slot in base, when button is pushed, am Indian pops up from base, holding a peace pipe to Columbus, coin rolls into slotted groove. Some very minor surface rusting, nice gold paint. Really nice overall condition. Conditions of sale: Thank you for looking at my items. Most items ship next business day.
