Description: It will be impossible to duplicate this ensemble anymore. This is the WWII unaltered collection of Lt. Walter Seastrom of the 489th Bomber Group. Many of the documents and uniforms have his name hand written in them. The bomber jacket is unbelievable but the pocket patch is loose from the jacket. Most of his flight maps from the US , records and notebooks are in here starting in the AAC as a private. He was ultimately discharged as a 1st LT after the war. His 3 soft hats are here, hard helmet, equator short snorter, school autographed pilot bot, canvas water jacket, wings, pea coat, uniform, 2 trunks.... it all is here. One of the unusual things is the Japanese flag. Walter flew over 10 bomb runs from England in 1944. From what I have read, the group was transferred to Asia in 12/44 and while most of the unit stayed in the EU it looks as if he went to the Asia theater given the flag. several of his id's are included and an amazing amount of WWII ephemera. The set belongs in a museum. The upper box of the AAC trunk was damaged in the shipping to me and the tray needs some repair. All in all the condition is great. Some period repairs to the uniforms. No mothe damage. A slight smell of mothballs and aviation fuel. About MeI am an old school wholesale dealer and have scoured New England, California and Georgia for material.
