Description: PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING AND LOOK AT ALL THE PHOTOS. Please ask for more information if needed to make an informed purchase. All defects are clearly shown in the photos. Book cover has water damage and soil and has yellowed. Back cover has dogears on one corner. Generally the book is solid with no loose or missing pages. The book is signed by Bob Holman and is inscribed to Steve and Gloria Tropp (my parents, who were on the Beat poet scene around the time of Ginsberg) who were friends of Bob’s. Proceeds of the sale of this particular book will go to Gloria’s care as she is now in a nursing home. Steve passed on in 1988. Bob Holman is an American poet and poetry activist, most closely identified with the oral tradition, the spoken word, and poetry slam. As a promoter of poetry in many media, Holman has spent the last four decades working variously as an author, editor, publisher, performer, emcee of live events, director of theatrical productions, producer of films and television programs, record label executive, university professor, and archivist. He was described by Henry Louis Gates Jr. in The New Yorker as "the postmodern promoter who has done more to bring poetry to cafes and bars than anyone since Ferlinghetti."
