This plastic army playset accessory was first offered in 1998 as part of BMC Toys D-Day Invasion of Normandy set with bases molded into the top of Pillbox bunkers. This version includes a new freestanding base that was produced in 2020 for the BMC Toys Secret Stronghold set. BMC Toys was founded by Bill McMaster in 1991 and specializes in producing historically accurate plastic army men figures and playsets in the classic style of the 1950s and 1960s.
