Blue Sony Walkman WM-F8, Maple Leaf, w/ Strap, For Parts or Repair, As Is

Description: This is a rare blue coloured Sony Walkman WM-F8, with a maple leaf logo instead of the customary star. Tapes play but there are definite issues that the buyer will need to be aware of before buying. The headphone jack is a bit dodgy -- I had to wiggle a pair of earphones (not included) to get sound out of both ears. The plastic is very brittle and there are cracks in places. As I was removing the battery compartment cover to take photos, I broke it, and had to do the "repair" you see in some of the last photos. I won't be putting the cover back on. There's a completely missing piece of plastic that broke off from the back of the Walkman at the bottom, which you can see in the last photo. There is battery corrosion damage to the battery contacts, but not enough to interfere with a pair of AAs (also not included) powering the unit. The eject button no longer opens the cassette door. The unit is pretty badly scuffed, and the there are a few streaks where a bit of the coloring has been lifted. There's a number etched into the top. Other than that, it seems to work fine. It could do with a proper servicing though.
