Description: "Hamburger Tropfen" translates to Hamburg (Germany) drops. The good Doctor migrated to the United States and began making patent medicines in Baltimore in 1874. These "drops" were a stomach remedy listed as a Blood purifier, strength and health restorer, and specific for all stomach, liver and kidney troubles. It contained 55% alcohol. This is just such a weird little bottle I had to list it. I don’t know of any other bottle that has a hamburger on it! It stands 3 ½” high and 1” in diameter. It is lightly embossed “DR AUGUST KOENIG HAMBURGER TROPFEN”. The top is not quite straight, and it is starting to go a sun-colored amethyst. I would put the age in the late 1890s. It is in dug condition. The soil was not kind, and the inside has a bad stain. Sometimes a light oil can help but it is a sure sign of age. There are no chips or cracks.
