These scarce British magazines were issued by the Atlas Publishing Company from November 1939 until the end of 1953, continuing after the demise of the American version in 1951. Earlier pre-war British issues of Black Mask had been printed in the USA and imported. These interesting and scarce later issues were printed in Britain, and use stories and covers from Black Mask, and from other sources, including Dime Detective Magazine. Paper shortages during the war and afterwards caused low print runs. Approximately 10 inches by 7 inches. 64 pages. Original full colour covers with advertisement on the rear cover. In attractive condition with a little light wear and creasing to the covers, both covers have been laminated, usual toning to leaves (see pictures). Binding sound and square. A very nice example of this scarce original pulp detective magazine.
