Description: This listing is for 15 Bishop's Crown pepper seeds. These seeds were collected from Bishop's Crown peppers (also know as the Christmas Bell or Joker's Hat pepper) that were grown to full maturity in my garden during the summer of 2022. The seeds were then dried, packaged, and ready to send to you. Bishop's Crown peppers thrive in warm to hot weather (65-85 degrees F) during the daytime hours but can be grown indoors with adequate light. Like all peppers, bishop's crown peppers do well in an area with good morning sun and in soil with a pH level around 5 to 6 (slightly acidic). Their name derives from the unique look of these peppers with a distinct three-sided shape that resembles a bishop's crown. These peppers have been particularly prolific in my garden this year with each plant producing hundreds of peppers. The heat level of Bishop's Crown peppers slightly hotter than the jalapeno pepper but milder than the habanero pepper. Their Scoville Heat Units (SHU) is between 5,000 and 30,000 SHU. The typical jalapeno pepper is around 5,000 SHU. When growing hot peppers, it is recommended that you use a heating mat to increase germination rates. Also, wear gloves whenever handling the seeds or fruit can prevent irritation to your skin. To keep shipping costs low, your order will be mailed through USPS in an envelope. No tracking options will be available. Please contact me directly if you have any questions or concerns and I will make every attempt to resolve them in an amicable manner.
