My first has been very trustworthy in the 2 1/2 to 3 years of it's life and lately the battery hasn't been holding up like it used to. I purchased the new model without hesitation and it hasn't disappointed. I wear them for early morning runs and overnight races and I'm looking forward to putting the 425 to the test soon. The light weight and thin profile make wearing it for hours on end easy and the dimmable lumen output has been great for extending the battery charge. ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· 24 days ago Ultra light weight and runner friendlyThis was my first time using a headlamp with the battery pack in the back/separate from the headlamp and it was honestly so nice because the pack didn’t jump around on my head making the light much more focused with where I was running in front of me. The light mode has a few different brightness tones and is rechargeable which means no fussing with a battery….because who needs a battery powered headlamp for a day or two running trip? Nobody anymore!Recommends this product ✔ Yes ☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago Big fan of the rear facing safety light! The 2 options of brightness for the forward light are great! Perfect amount of dim mode for not blinding your amigos in close quarters, and VERY BRIGHT when you need to turn it too 11! But the back light on the rear placed battery pack is the show stopper on the 425! WHAT!? Great weight displacement as well as the rear high visibility light allows the 425 to stay secure during intense movements and it has kept me safe on my night sprints! So stoked on this product!Recommends this product ✔ Yes ☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago Small AND mighty headlampI am really stoked with the performance of the HeadLamp 425. I used it during a 4:00 AM pre-race prep for a runner I was crewing last weekend. It's super slim and low-key, which makes it great for tossing in a running pack or pocket.I found the dimmest setting was plenty for poking around camp in the morning and packing up the car, while the brightest setting was seriously bright - like illuminate all of camp, cars, look for micro-trash serious. The fit was snug and comfortable, while the button and settings were easy to use with gloves on. I also appreciated that even with the light swiveled down, it never sagged or bounced on my head as I moved around. Can't wait to take it out for some dusky/evening trail runs this winter!Recommends this product ✔ Yes ☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago Comfortable and great battery lifeThis is my first headlamp with separate battery pack and I'm sold! Very nice to not have the light bobbing around as you move, and the fabric wicks very well. The extra safety light on the back is a great idea.Recommends this product ✔ Yes ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago Standing Out in a Crowded FieldI have been impressed with this little powerhouse of a headlamp. In my opinion, a great piece of gear is forgotten about during use. The uniquely designed strap and front-back weight balance means it disappears on your head immediately. Comfortable, easy to adjust, and no dreaded bouncing while running! It only took a week for me to fall in love with the HeadLamp 425. This light tackles it all in stride, from an early morning run, to a fieldwork campsite, to some after-hours mountain biking on technical trails. The battery life has been great so far and I cannot emphasize enough how much I like the simplicity of the single button mode selector. I have owned many other name brand headlamps in the past that seem to pride themselves on requiring you to learn morse code just to change the setting. As the autumn nights shorten and ski season arrives I look forward to getting the 800 version too!Recommends this product ✔ Yes☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ ☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago Morning runs approved. The nice thing about running is that you don't need a lot of gear - a pair of shorts, sock, a t-shirt, some quality shoes, and a watch will about get you through. I end up running early in the mornings before work though, so a headlamp is an additional, essential piece of my gear list. BioLite's new 425 model is exactly as I'd hoped for - it's comfortable to wear, the brightness is fantastic, and it charges easily.Recommends this product ✔ Yes ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago Perfect all-use headlamp! This is my second Biolite headlamp and loving the new model and color options. I’m the type to just carry a headlamp with me all the time, and what jumped out to me most is how comfortable it is - I honestly forgot I was wearing it. The different light intensities give you a nice range and I haven’t had to charge it yet even after several hours of use. I used the lower intensity and red light around camp in Sequoia-Kings, and bumped it up to the highest intensity to wrap up a hike after dark and work around rope systems in search and rescue. The headlamp feels super lightweight and the strap stays securely on my head, even when running or bumping around ropes and rocks! I’ve only had this one for a couple weeks but my last Biolite headlamp didn’t have any wear and tear on the strap after heavy use over a few years, so I think the durability will be the same. Would highly recommend!Recommends this product ✔ Yes ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆5 out of 5 stars.· a month ago The perfect headlamp finally existsMy old headlamp broke, went searching to upgrade. Had a list of all my wants (Lumens up to 400, light weight, balanced for running, rear light, good battery life, usb-c). Pre-ordered this and could not happier!· Age · 35–44Recommends this product ✔ Yes
