Description: 1965 SPORTS ILLUSTRATED MAGAZINESIGNED BY US SKIING GREATBILLY KIDDThis vintage S.I. has a great Kidd auto signed in red sharpie "Happy Skiing to Lee Billy Kidd". Kidd won the first Olympic ski medal for the US in 1964 taking silver in the slalom. He challenged the great Jean-Claude Killy during the mid-1960s and helped put US ski team on the map.This autographed S.I. was from the collection of Leland Campbell, a marketing professor at Bentley College and one of the original volunteers that started the New England Sports Museum - now the Boston Sports Museum at TD Garden. Before his death he spent 40 years assembling his collection. He was a frequent visitor to Fenway Park and to the Baseball Hall of Fame and got to know many of the sports figures on a personal basis. Buyer will receive a certificate guaranteeing the authenticity of this autographed item.
